The Green Door started out in the mid-1960s as a fine dining establishment called The Green Door Lounge. Over time, we began transitioning from only having live music on the weekends to live entertainment nightly and special events on Sundays and Mondays. The genre also changed from blues to the current broad variety, including upbeat dance music that we feature now. Our general manager, Jen Costigan, has been with us through 2 ownership changes in the last 2 decades and is now one of the owners and partners along with Jon Woolston.

In addition to street and public parking, our venue is accessible by Public transport Route 1 and the Entertainment Express Trolley. We are located right down the road from the State Capital, near 3 college campuses, including Michigan State University, Lansing Community College, and Cooley Law School.
